Kidalog
Find a novel that's right for you at your local school
About Us
The Kidalog is a volunteer effort brought to you by Kristy Andrews, in consultation with
Nick Briggs and Andrew Briggs.
Kristy has been a library volunteer in the Palo Alto Unified School District since 2001;
she works in the computer industry.
The Kidalog helps PAUSD elementary school students
in the 2nd through 5th grade find novels that they'll love.
It was inspired by real students, under real class period time constraints,
using categories that work for them.
The Kidalog was launched at Barron Park Elementary School in 2006, and reached
Juana Briones Elementary School, LM Nixon Elementary School, and Addison Elementary School
soon after.
By the 2008-2009 school year, the Kidalog was available at every elementary school
in the Palo Alto Unified School District.
Special thanks are due to the PAUSD librarians, all of whom have been tremendously
helpful and supportive. Without their knowledge, enthusiasm, and professionalism,
this project would not be possible.
